Imperial Beach in San Diego
Imperial Beach located in San Diego, California, is connected to Coronado Island by the Silver Strand. The beach stretches from Silver Strand all the way down to the Tijuana River Estuary. It is really less crowded than other San Diego beaches as it is a bit off the beaten path.
The beach has a pier and a beach front park. Dunes Park is a great spot for picnicking and kite flying. The beach is popular for fishing and strolling and motorized beach wheelchairs are available too. It is home to the annual U.S. Open Sandcastle Competition.
The Pier at Imperial Beach stretches out for over 1500 square feet. You can fish off the pier without a license. Enjoy dining at the restaurant at the end of the pier. Revel in stunning ocean views all the way from Mexico up to the coast of southern California!
