Hidden Beach Attractions & Activities
Hidden Beach is a beach on the east side of Cedar Lake in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It rose to prominence in the 60's when it used to be a nude beach. Now officially named East Cedar Beach, being located on the northeast side of the Cedar Lake, it remains a popular swimming and sun bathing area.
It was notably the only nude beach in the Twin Cities but there are no more displays. It actually remains hidden down by a block long path through the forest which leads to the Shore of Cedar Lake. It is now a legal and recognized beach area by the city of Minneapolis. It remains occupied during spring through fall with its fair share of regulars.
The atmosphere is typically very friendly with artists and musicians frequenting and exhibiting their talents. A big attraction at Hidden Beach is the mud pit located on the eastern side of the beach that lets visitors jump in the mud and later rinse off in the lake.
The trails surrounding the beach are also quite popular as walking paths. They connect up with the nearby Kenilworth Trail and a section of the paved Cedar Lake Trails. Enjoy this unique habitat and feel a sense of being back in the woods.
