Dockweiler State Beach in Los Angeles
Dockweiler State Beach in Los Angeles is protected under the state park system. Readily accessed from Playa del Rey to the north, it features a three mile long shoreline attracting visitors to its picnic area and concession stand. It's the only beach in Los Angeles County that allows bonfires. July 4 celebrations have the Los Angeles' big fireworks on display here.

Located in the middle of the city, it is not surrounded by buildings or houses. However located in the vicinity of the LA International Airport runway it has the big jet engines roaring up on their upward drift. Summers bring on huge numbers of visitors who can do well to remember that pets are not allowed on the beach. But it is the one beachfront that has an RV park. And pets on leash are allowed in this area.

An entrance fee is charged as also a parking fee at the curb along Vista Del Mar. Paid parking is available for 2,080 spaces. Beach activities include bike paths, walking paths, swimming, surfing, volleyball and fire rings. Amenities on the beach include restrooms, showers, picnic areas and food. Experience a unique beach setting with jets flying over adding to the matchless ambience.
